1. Who we are
Playhoard Ltd ("Playhoard", "we", "us") is a company registered in England & Wales under company number 17448359, with its registered office at 19 Rylestone Grove, Bristol, BS9 3UT. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What data we collect

We never receive or store your full card number. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe, who process it under their own privacy policy.
3. How we use your data
- To process and deliver your order, and to handle refund requests.
- To send mailing list emails about new codes from creators you've chosen to hear about, if you've signed up.
- To calculate and pay the correct revenue share to the creator whose code you used.
- To detect and prevent fraud or misuse of discount codes.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations, such as keeping records of sales.
4. Our legal basis for using your data
We rely on: performing our contract with you (processing an order); our legitimate interests (preventing fraud, improving the service); your consent (mailing list emails, which you can withdraw at any time); and legal obligation (financial record-keeping).
5. Who we share it with
- Stripe — to process payments securely.
- Creators and press outlets — receive aggregated, non-identifying figures on how many times their code was used, not your personal details.
- Service providers who help us run the site (e.g. hosting, email delivery), bound by contracts to protect your data.
- Authorities, where we're required to by law.
We don't sell your personal data to anyone.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers, including Stripe, may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to keep your data protected to UK standards.
7. How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as required for accounting and tax purposes (typically 6 years). If you're on the mailing list only, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
8. Cookies
Playhoard uses a small number of essential cookies needed to keep the site and checkout working, and may use basic analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. We don't use cookies to build advertising profiles about you.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data, where we're not required to keep it (e.g. for tax records).
- Restrict or object to certain processing, including mailing list emails — you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@playhoard.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Playhoard grows — for example, once we launch fuller creator tooling. We'll post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date.
